Webster’s Dictionary has no definition for the term “true grit”. To truly explore the meaning of this John Wayne, masculine, tough-guy concept one has to go to an entirely different educational source... the Sacramento Mountains.

Nestled deep in the wooded forests one finds the true essence and defining test of the phrase: man demonstrating his prowess against the very ravages of nature. Conquering the elements and the mountains, as well as, elk, bear, mule deer, and antelope held deep in this place is the heart of legend.
